3. The creation of Bulgari endorsed Travel Books promoting Experience Africa

In 2009 Bulgari received a copy of our Coffee Table magazine “CAPE VILLAS” with Conde Nast Traveller, they liked it and wished to endorse the follow up and figures of around R1M were discussed. We informed Bulgari that our next publication would be pan African and be in hardback, we also informed them, we would be a while as we needed to create and research a new brand
Now that Experience Africa is nearly ready to launch and 15 other territories planned, and a clear end game to link with Amex Centurion soon. We are now preparing for the book and production.

We will be doing 3 different productions.

  1. An over sized Hardback Coffee Table Book.
    5,000 direct placement by Gold Key Media UK.
    The same for venues included to give to special guests.


  2. An art film over a dramatic sound track. 90 Minutes, for Cinema, plus exerts given to Fashion TV and other selected Media.

  3. Glossy Magazines.
    100,000 Distributed by Conde Nast in Europe and the USA and many more via a network of affiliates resellers.

Our current main focus, is the Art Book, we will soon be consulting on the film, and will consider the magazine at a later time. Other than the venue names, which will be subtle, there will be no text in the Art book.

We have put 2 years of research into finding out not which venues are really the best for the world’s elite to visit, if its expensive it has to be worth it, and if its inexpensive it has to be amazing.

This said we will not be focusing on architecture so much, more the surrounding landscapes.

And either directly in front, or entwined within the landscapes we will be featuring models and actresses. But always in an arty way, some treatments we are working on.

  6. A shot in the cockpit, and if possible on the wing of a Leer Jet in front of a dramatic background.

  7. In the desert in front of , Rovos Rail is (the Orient express of Africa)

  8. Quad Biking in front of the Giant Dunes in Namibia

  9. A number of South African Safari Shots.

  10. Exotic Beaches in Mauritius, Seychelles, Zanzibar, and Mozambique  

  11. The Cradle of mankind ,

  12. Victoria Falls,

  13. Zimbarli Lodge

  14. The Drakensburg Mountains

  15. The Ocavango Delta

  16. Some truly amazing Villas, Safari Experiences and Hotels.

We will be going for about 300 pages with about 8 pages devoted to each location, mostly of the landscapes but one or two pages showing the venue. Some locations may warrant more pages so we are looking at about 30 different venues.

When we talked last, we discussed Bulgari placing guest soaps, perfume samples, general branding, even jewelry displays in our Villas, now we will be looking to do so in 30 of the most exclusive venues in Africa there appeal to them will be greater than ever. But as It’s been 2 years I want to come in with a very strong well thought out package.

So far I know I want to keep as free from ads as possible, preferably completely free.

In an Ideal world we will link Bulgari with Armani and Channel and the cover just say “Experience Africa” and their three logos underneath in Silver Leaf, so for all intents and purposes it looks like they produced it.

Instead of ads, the models in the shots will ware their products, sometimes subtly in the distance, sometimes the central focus of the shot. It’s an Art Book so we can get very creative.

They can have as little or as much involvement as you want, they can leave it all to us, or they can art direct. We will only insist that 2 of our contracted models be mainly featured. And offer them syndicate rights on their contracts.

With the syndicate contract worth over 30M we will give them the opportunity to take the credit if they wish and announce to the world they have just taken out 2 of the largest contracts of all time to 2 South African unknowns. Stronger than this I wish to groom Cathy my nanny to Model, she has the look but not the confidence, but we can help her, the story of giving a $25M contact to a girl from a Cape Town township will be world news for them, so I think we have a good offering.

Lastly as normal, we are lining ourselves up to approach their corporate holding company to come in to our first wave 16 of big brands.
